The term Bento finds it's origin from Japanese culture where in means home packed meal. However, bentos form an integral part of Japanese food culture, which cannot be simply traced from a packed meal. According to a recent research published in Centre for International Environmental Law (CIEL), at every stage of its lifecycle, plastic poses distinct risks to human health, arising from both exposure to plastic particles themselves and associated chemicals. The majority of people worldwide are exposed at multiple stages of this lifecycle.
